Midis and lyrics to popular kids songs
Midis and lyrics to nursery rhymes plus some Flash activities. My daughter loves the Peter Pumpkin "Build a House".
The songs are quite banal but will be loved by any two year old nonetheless. An excellent Flash based site for kids with loads of activities for them.
Online pictures of one of the best storybook artists around. His nursery rhyme illustrations are delightful.
Some flash nursery rhymes ( not as good as mine of course :) ) and other activities for kids. Targeted towards Indian children with activities in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati etc.The site actually opens up in a new window so don't close it thinking it's a pop-up ad.
Great recordings of traditional nursery rhymes and songs. Claims to be flash based but there's just one little animation that plays throughout. They do, however, have some very good animations of fairy tales.
The name's a bit awkward but the site is good. It has hundreds of worksheets (including nursery rhymes) to print out, great for kindergarten teachers and parents of pre-schoolers.
This site has some beautifully drawn pictures ( in PDF format) of nursery rhymes by Kate Greenaway to print out and colour.
Not exactly made for children but my daughter likes to listen/dance to the tunes.
Lots of free songs for kids. Musicians post a couple of songs or so from their albums in order to gain exposure. Quite a bit of the music is kind of cheesy but if you like that, then this is a great site. Lali liked Joe Thompson's "Pirates in the Bathroom".Best seen with a broadband connection.

Other Fun Sites

Make your own snowflake or see the thousands that are designed every day by other users. Flash based. You'll be amazed at how beautifully they all turn out.
Good for smaller toddlers. My daughter loves the "Build a playground" activity.
Stories with illustrations. The illustrations are quite good but many of the stories, especially the non-traditional ones, can be tedious and trite.
An excellent cartoonist who shares his knowledge with kids (and me!). For older children who like to draw.
Text renditions of Aesop classics. Some are read out loud.
Les Posen's Israeli Folk DancesWonderful videos of traditional folk dances and new ones set to both traditional and modern Israeli/Jewish music. Les Posen obviously loves what he does and it shines through in this site. My daughter loves wearing herself out in the loungeroom with this site and I love the naps she takes afterwards!
Flash animations of a few of Andersen's classic stories. Best seen with a broadband connection.
Incredibly lovely games for older children (and adults). Most of the games are beautifully illustrated and have good background music. The creator has a beautiful mind.
I am frequently asked to add more content relating to India and Indian culture. That's not really the focus of this site (at the moment) but Kamat's Potpourri is an excellent site if you want to show your children more of this. Babloo ( link above in the nursery rhyme links) also has Indian content specifically geared towards children. Jatakkatha.com (see below) also has a good collection of animated Buddhist stories.
LightUpYourBrain
This site has some excellent jigsaw puzzles for older children (although it takes a long time to download the necessary shockwave player.) It also has quite a few Hans Christian Andersen stories read out in streaming media which is actually the best part of the sit. Click on the image above to enter the site.
Has excellent learning activities for pre-schoolers.
This site is really for older kids (8+) but worth a mention here ( thanks to the anonymous visitor who submitted it using the form below!). The illustrations are just brilliant and the games I tried were well thought-out. The navigation can be a bit confusing but in an interesting sort of way in that you don't quite know where you'll end up. They've got some sort of subliminal -like advertising from companies like Disney which lowers the tone a bit (because it's a bit sneaky - not because they have advertising of course ;) ) but it's not too overdone. As I said, probably children above the third grade would enjoy this site the most.
It's 'alternative' advertising from a place that Lali won't be eating at if we have anything to do with it (Burger King- she doesn't eat beef) but she thinks this site is hilarious. I type in commands to the chicken for Lali and he performs them. It's a good play on their slogan "Have it your way" and is very well done.
A good selection of animated Buddhist tales. The voiceovers are difficult to hear with the background music so careful listening is required. The animations are engaging though and the stories are classics.
An excellent Flash based site for really small kids. It has a number of colourful 'cause and effect' games that babies will enjoy, discovering which key causes which effect. The train is particularly nice.
Lots of activities for kids and an easy to navigate site.
This site from Disney is one of their better ones and is very good. There are lots of activities and craft ideas as well as recipes etc. And they don't even advertise their credit card on the first page (which they do on the main Disney site).
Wonderful site which has a strong and structured phonetics- based approach to learning reading. Good flash interaction for little kids except a parent would probably need to show them how to click on the words etc first. Wish we had come across it earlier...
